EMG shows electrodiagnostic evidence of neurogenic injury in a generalized distribution to the motor nerves affecting the entire body, with both active and chronic denervation in many of the muscles tested. The location of injury most likely originates at the level of the anterior horn cell. This EMG supports a diagnosis of a lower motor neuron syndrome (progressive muscular atrophy), meeting the "elescorel* criteria for four body regions affected by the disease. This supports a clinical diagnosis of probable amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
