The patient was seen in the emergency room after a bad headache, fever, and vomiting. He had a CBC and blood culture done, as well as an *LP*. His CBC was normal. Spinal fluid showed only 7 white cells with a predominance of lymphocytes. Normal group *of* protein and negative *BAS*.

Not an expert.
Type into Google..
lumbar puncture "PAS"
Believe it is some sort of staining procedure they use when examining CSF for various infections.
Found out it means "periodic acid Schiff"
