Sm please re ankle injury. Thanks.

There is no tenderness to compression above the ankle up to the knee, and there is no tenderness or swelling or ecchymosis noted at the ankle s/l "proper" or the associated medial or lateral ankle ligaments or s/l "malleoli" (yet we're only apparently referring to one ankle).

because there is more than one - the tibial and the fibular - Here is definition from On-Line Med. Dict.
malleolus
Origin: L, dim. Of malleus hammer.

1. <anatomy> A projection at the distal end of each bone of the leg at the ankle joint. The malleolus of the tibia is the internal projection, that of the fibula the external.
