Need hyphen opinions. (sm)

This is a well-nourished if not chronically-ill appearing male in no acute distress.

I think there should be hyphens, but my grammar check says otherwise. Any opinions? TIA

well-nourished correct, but you don't need a hyphen when the first word ends in "ly" but you would need one between "ill" and "appearing" so it would be..

This is a well-nourished, if not chronically ill-appearing male.....
