use of word "practiced" (please see text) ??

With each hypoglycemia episode, the release of counter-regulatory hormone between "practiced" cortisol, growth hormone, epinephrine not only results in results in subsequent hyperglycemia, but this hyperglycemia could be actually prolonged for the next 2-3 days as some of these hormones remain at higher levels for this period of time.

-and again-

My inclination, as the patient proves to need a more aggressive level of control, is to try and achieve that through insulin-sensitizing agents between "practiced" metformin or Actos rather than pushing more insulin, especially Lantus.

I found this information:

"However, hypoglycemia causes a major stress response, with increases in plasma ACTH and serum cortisol, growth hormone, and prolactin, and activation of the sympathetic nervous system.."
