POSTOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: High grade right carotid stenosis.

PROCEDURE: Right carotid endarterectomy with patch angioplasty utilizing a shunt and intraoperative ultrasound.

The shunt was then placed into the carotid. There was excellent backflow from internal carotid. The s/l *hemo carotid patch* was then cut to fit the defect and this was sewn in place with a 6-0 Prolene.
