Taxol question, sm
Fri Aug 20, 2004 01:22

Please have sympathy on me, I'm transcribing for a brand new doc outta school! lol...

He is listing meds and he says: Big Taxol.

Now, I don't know if he meant just plain old Taxol or if there is another drug out there that ends in *taxol. It doesn't really sound like he is saying paclitaxel, but he could be pronouncing it wrong.

Although, he doesn't mention the patient having cancer so it makes me wonder. He is just coming in for colonoscopy screening.

If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! Here is more info if that helps:

PAST MEDICAL HISTORY: His medical history is significant for mild TIA in the past, arthritis, tonsillectomy in 1932, surgery for undescended testicle, and kidney stones. He also had a gallbladder resection and a prostatectomy in the 1980s. He denies any history of coronary artery disease, or pulmonary disease. He has been suffering from vertigo since the late 1980s.
MEDICATIONS: His current medications include clopidogrel, alternated with a baby aspirin 81 mg every other day. Levothyroxine, loratadine, Fosamax, meclizine, Pepcid AC, propoxyphene, "Taxol", vitamins and lethicin.
