as far as dangerous abbreviations, they're mostly abbreviations I don't use anyway, like ėg (if it prints on this page right) for micrograms. If a doctor dictates "estimated blood loss was 300 cc" I don't change it to "300 mL" and I don't follow the logic that it's dangerous for me to type 300 cc (but not dangerous for him to dictate it).
Precise specification, I believe, was that each individual hospital could chose two "dangerous abbreviations" and prohibit their use, but the choice of which to prohibit was left to the hospital.
