the patient had a curvilinear incision made in an anterior J fashion over the medial malleolar fracture and this was exposed. Care was taken to protect the saphenous vein. The patient then had dissection to expose the fracture site. A clot was curetted out. Irrigation was done. Good exposure of the fracture edge was had an a reduction was carried out and held in position by a lockable s/l towel clamp

clips, have ratcheted locks on their handles, just like hemostats do. They're handy-dandy little things.
