"above the." I'm assuming that the first.. (sm)
I think it would make sense if the word "knee" came after

extremity being discusses is the patient's left lower extremity. Could that be?

He does make reference to below-knee amputations several other places. Just wanted to make sure it was not okay as was before I added the word knee. I am sure that is what he is referring to, just a little unsure of changing sometimes. thanks.
