could be from the spinal. Anesthesia was consulted and the options of a "patch" was discussed at length with pt. It was felt that we could either proceed with this "procedure" or continue with rest, analagesics, and increased fluid intake, of which pt decided to go forward with.
Is a patch a procedure for migraines?

blood patch--a method of stopping postspinal tap headaches. The patient's own blood is injected into the epidural space and seals the hole in the dura made by the spinal tap needle. This prevents leakage of cerebrospinal fluid, the cause of the headache pain, also called postspinal headache. (Vera Pyle)
